Subject: Expression - image question
Hi again, Sorry to bug you. In Front Page, I sometimes liked to use
the tool where I could select an image and then make certain areas of
that image hyperlink somewhere. For example on this new page I’m working
on the entire top area graphic is one image, would like the little logo
guy on the left to link home but would prefer the entire image stay
as one. But I don’t see the tool where I can draw
a box around the little logo guy and make him hyperlink. I’m not
seeing that tool in Expression? Did they ditch it? I will be sad if
they did.
I looked in your book (of course!) and didn’t see anything there.
Thanks, Megan
Answer:
That was the FrontPage tool to insert an “image map”.
I’d be a little leery of it for SEO/SEM
reasons and slice an image up and just hyperlink certain segments,
do something with CSS maybe, etc.
If you really want to use it just click the image in question to select it, and then right click, chose “Show Pictures Toolbar” and on the right side of the toolbar you’ll see the tools you need.
The Pictures Toolbar is also available under View/ Toolbars/ Pictures.
